How AgentSolar AI came to be

AgentSolar AI began with personal frustration: analyzing solar quotes was unnecessarily difficult. Information was fragmented, pricing was inconsistent, and what appeared to be a "cheap" quote often came with hidden costs or unfavorable terms.

The platform was founded by Dr. Tursun Ablekim, a scientist and engineer who spent years developing next-generation solar technologies at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and First Solar (publications). Although his professional work focused on advancing solar technology, friends and family had long known him simply as "the solar guy"—the person they called first when a solar sales rep stopped them at Costco or Home Depot. The questions were always similar: Is it a good deal? Should I buy it?

That trickle turned into a flood in early 2023, when California's transition to NEM 3.0 reshaped the economics of residential solar. Friends—and friends of friends— began calling with quotes they didn't understand and contracts they felt pressured to sign. As Dr. Ablekim dug into the details—pricing structures, financing terms, installer practices—he saw the same issues repeat themselves: wild price variation, mismatched equipment pairing, misleading information, misrepresentation, and in some cases, blatantly false claims

Later, as the scheduled expiration of the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) at the end of 2025 approached, the calls became frequent again. To keep up with requests and provide consistent, objective guidance, Dr. Ablekim began developing his own evaluation methodology—combining market research, structured analysis, equipment and warranty details, financing, and contract terms, along with early AI integration

What began as volunteer help evolved into a repeatable system—and eventually into AgentSolar AI, a purpose-built, data-driven platform designed to bring transparency, efficiency, and intelligence to the solar market.
