ShopSolar supplies your complete solar kit, AgentSolar gets it installed — a new partnership model in the industry. AgentSolar helps you get vetted local crews, fair market pricing, and a completion guarantee.
From your ShopSolar order to a professionally installed system.
Choose a complete solar kit on ShopSolar — panels, inverter, and battery, matched and included. Add a plan set and permit package too if you want the paperwork handled, or leave it to AgentSolar.
Interested in professional installation? Let your ShopSolar sales rep know — that's all it takes to start.
ShopSolar reaches out to AgentSolar, their installation partner, and shares your kit and address so we can price the installation.
We quote the installation at market rate up front — before you commit. The price is based on your system and location, not a single installer's number, so you know the cost before you order.
Happy with the quote? Place your order and pay for installation right on ShopSolar. If your kit includes a plan set and permit package, work with them to pull permits.
Once your order is placed, we reach out to local installers near you who are willing to take this type of installation request and whose crew has availability. Then we'll connect you to them.
Once the permits are approved and everything’s ready, the installer sends a professional crew to install your system — mounting, wiring, inverter and battery setup, inspection, and utility interconnection.
AgentSolar releases the installer’s payment in phases as the work is completed — a typical schedule is 25% to begin the install, 50% once the system is installed, and the remaining 25% after utility interconnection.
You bought the kit. We take on the risk of getting it installed — and stand behind it.
We commit to getting your system installed within the timeline we agree on. If an installer stalls, we line up another at no cost to you. And if we ever fail to get it installed, you get a full refund of what you paid for installation — including funds we’ve already released to an installer. Yes, that means we take the loss if we can’t deliver what we promised. You’re never left stranded with a kit and no crew.
Every crew is licensed, certified, and has a proven track record. We never send someone we haven’t checked.
We quote your installation at market rate up front — not an inflated number. You won’t get overcharged.
Your installation payment is released to the crew in milestones as the work gets done — start, install, interconnection. The installer isn’t paid ahead of the work.
You get your installation price up front, before you place your ShopSolar order — so there’s no commitment until you’re ready.
No, you don't have to. We have a list of installers across the US, so feel free to reach out to them yourself. Just know that most installers don't want to deal with bring-your-own-equipment installs, and the ones that do often quote more than the wholesale price we've negotiated with them. And if an installer drops you in the middle of the job, the money you've paid won't come back — you'll have to find another one and start over. Check Reddit for installer ghosting stories.
AgentSolar quotes it at market rate based on your system size, roof, and location — up front, before you place your order. We don't wait on a single installer's quote, so you know the cost before you commit.
You pay ShopSolar for the installation when you place your order. ShopSolar remits to AgentSolar, and we release payment to your installer in milestones as the work is completed.
Permitting starts with a plan set — the stamped electrical and structural design your city needs to approve the job. If you bought a plan set and permit package from your equipment seller, you work with them to pull your permits. If you didn't, our partnered solar design engineers prepare the plan set and permit package for you. Once the paperwork is in order, we find an installer to do the work and handle the inspection sign-off.
You do — it's your system. You bought the equipment, you pay for the installation, and it goes on your home, so you own it start to finish. The permit is pulled under the self-installation (owner-builder) category in your name. In states that don't allow owner-builder permits, it's pulled under the licensed installer's contractor license instead — which usually costs more, since the contractor takes on the added responsibility and liability for the permitted work.
Yes — installers stand behind their work with a workmanship warranty covering the installation itself: the mounting, wiring, and connections they perform. The length varies by installer, and we'll make sure you know the exact coverage before you sign. Your panels, inverter, and battery are not covered by the installer or AgentSolar — that equipment isn't part of the work performed under this contract and is covered by the manufacturers' own warranties. The installer also does not promise how much electricity your system will generate — neither its day-to-day output nor its production over the years. Actual production depends on your equipment, roof, location, and weather.
